CASCI is pleased to invite members to our upcoming virtual Brown Bag education session on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This one-hour complimentary education session is offered as a benefit to CASCI members and will feature Lorna Drope, Private Attorney - limited conservatorship and when a supportive decision-making agreement may be an alternative.

Lorna is a tax and estate planning attorney who has been practicing law since 1995. She is licensed to practice in California, Nevada, and Arizona and holds a Masters in tax law which she received cum laude from the University of San Diego in 2002. Prior to starting her own practice (Special Needs Law Group, APC), she worked as a tax consultant for ARTHUR ANDERSEN, LLP, an international accounting firm formerly known as one of the “Big Five” accounting firms. She also worked as a tax consultant for myCFO, INC., a wealth advisory and tax planning firm for high-net-worth individuals. She also served as of-counsel to HOGE, FENTON, JONES & APPEL, INC. practicing in the estate planning department.

Lorna’s primary focus is special needs planning. She also works closely with nonprofit organizations. She has served as chairman of the board of directors for three non-profits serving the Bay Area special needs community: Angels on Stage, Special Kids Connect in Monterey County, and California Community Opportunities (CCO), an organization providing housing opportunities for individuals with special needs. In addition, she served on the board of directors of Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE) and Life Services Alternatives (LSA).
